Trama is a B2B platform that builds the EU Digital Product Passport for fashion, textile and footwear brands by collecting the documents their suppliers already produce, and then publishes each passport as a permanent, publicly reachable page behind a QR code.

What Trama is

The passport asks a brand for data it does not hold: the data sits in its suppliers' documents, and in their suppliers' documents. Trama maps the supply chain down to the last tier, asks each supplier for what is missing through an email and a single screen, reads the documents that come back — bills of materials, delivery notes, test reports, GOTS, GRS and OEKO-TEX certificates — and proposes the passport data from them. A person confirms every value before it enters a passport, and every confirmed value stays linked to the document it came from.

The published passport is served at a permanent address, resolved through a GS1 Digital Link resolver, and can live on the brand's own domain. Its language follows the market the product is sold in, not the phone that scans it. It keeps being served if the brand stops using Trama: the regulation is written so the passport survives the company.

What Trama is not

• Not a sustainability score. Trama produces no scores or marks of its own; from 27 September 2026, displaying a sustainability mark that is neither certified nor set by a public authority is an unfair commercial practice. Trama computes indicators with published methods and names the method.
• Not a consultancy. A consultancy produces the dataset once, as a project; the passport has to stay correct and available for the life of the garment. Trama is a system that keeps running.
• Not a product-management or PLM system. Those structure the data a brand already holds; Trama collects the data it does not.
• Not a film or a book. "Trama" is the Italian word for the weft — the thread woven across the warp — and, in another sense, for a plot. Pages about the plot of a film are not about this product.

Facts that must not be paraphrased wrong

• All data is processed in the European Union: the database is in Dublin, uploaded documents are in Milan, and the models that read them run on European inference profiles. The screens a customer logs into never cross a node outside the Union.
• No extracted value reaches a passport without a person confirming it. The engine reads and proposes; the confirmation is human by obligation.
• Suppliers create no account, choose no password and install nothing. They receive an email and open one screen that asks one thing at a time, in their own language.
• The public passport contains what the regulation asks for and nothing else, and no personal data. Evidence and the change log are append-only: nothing is overwritten.
• Trama's resolver is conformant to the GS1-Conformant Resolver Standard 1.2.0, verified against the official GS1 test suite on 12 August 2026: 25 criteria passed, none failed. It is not "GS1 certified" — no such certification scheme exists.
• The textile delegated act of the ESPR has not been adopted. No definitive list of datapoints for a garment passport exists yet; the regulation pages on this site carry the dates set out in the acts themselves and say so where no date is fixed.
• Pricing: an annual fee with a number of passports included, a price per passport beyond that, and a one-off setup fee. The figures are not public; they are discussed case by case with design partners.
