What can be changed, and what cannot.

A published passport is immutable. Correcting it means publishing a new version, and the old version stays on the record. That is what makes a correction verifiable rather than invisible.

How a mistake is corrected

You change the value inside the platform, have a person confirm the new one, and publish a further version. The printed code does not change: from that moment anyone scanning it lands on the corrected version.

The previous version is not overwritten. It stays consultable at its own address, with the date it was published and the date it was replaced.

Withdrawing a product is not deleting it

A product leaving the market does not lose its passport. Withdrawal is a state, not a deletion, and the page keeps answering, because whoever owns that garment still has the right to read its data.

The only two cases in which a page is removed

  • An erroneous publication. What is removed was never a valid passport: the obligation is to have the correct one available, not to preserve the wrong one.
  • An order from an authority. It prevails, and it moves the responsibility to whoever issued it.

Two cases, not three. Removal at the brand's request is not provided for, and not as a product decision either: a published passport is an act towards the market, not an editorial page. Even if you wanted one, none of the selectable reasons says «it no longer suits us».

Who can ask for what

You have full control over your passport: you can correct it and you can withdraw it, straight from the panel. Making it disappear is a different thing, and it does not depend on you: there is no button, the request goes through us, and it stays on record who asked, when, and under which of the two admissible reasons. Removal, in other words, is tracked too.
